Dog at Work
I know that it has been a while since the last posting and I'm afraid that you are going to have to give me a bit more of your patience. As you can see, I am hard at work on a big project. It is almost complete so please check back again soon. I promise you won't be disappointed!

Summertime!
Well it's not quite summer, that is true, but things are definitely looking up. Soon there will be fish & chips in Steveston, which means chips for me! Madeleine for her part, celebrates the end of 6 pm darkness.

Madeleine and I are much alike. While the merest of bacon will bring an abundance of delight to me, just a wee bit of banana will do the same for my sister.
Madeleine has taken the opportunity that the good weather has provided to give her new slide a good breaking in.

Baby M is wondering: when do the strawberries arrive?!?
Still crawling, but not for long.
Phew, time for 40 winks.

Get out yer brooms!
Sunday, like every second day around BC these days, was hockey night. Madeleine and a few of her closest buddies (as well as all the parents) gathered round the ol' boob tube to watch the Canucks throttle the St. Louis Blues.
For a while there in the first period, it was edge-of-your-seat type action.
Later as the Canucks went on the offensive and took the lead, Madeleine insisted she needed a closer look.
In the end the final score was in favour of the good guys and the Canucks now lead the series 3 - 0 and are poised for the first sweep in team history.
A state of affairs that made both Dad and Daughter very, very happy.
The happiness continued right through until bath time as Baby M is looking forward to what looks like a long Stanley Cup run.

Easter Leftovers!
13 April 2009
First Easter.
Although I am of the opinion that rabbits are to be put into a stew and served to basset hounds, the one exception is the Easter Bunny. Although Madeleine is now over a year old, this was actually her first Easter, and the Bunny did not disappoint, making an early morning visit.

Also not disappointing was the Sunday brunch at the Hotel Vancouver.

Opa and Madeleine pose for a picture in their respective Sunday best.
Madeleine says "What gives with my wimpy portion!?!"
Baby M personally thanks the Easter Bunny and can't wait to see him again next year.

Bird Sanctuary
Madeleine found herself in possession of the princely sum of five dollars. She asked "Mr Burns, what can one do in this age with five dollars?"
"That's an easy question to answer I said, Bird Sanctuary!!!"
Madeleine and Mom get ready to search out the deadly Sandhill Crane. A little nervous, but prepared.
Ducks!

Baby M keeps her eagle eye peeled for an eagle.
The Steveston Bird Watching Society.
Oh my, Madeleine has learned how to walk!
Fooled you! Nice jacket Lila.
Madeleine takes a break from the safari for a little something, something.
Baby M gets a bird's eye view.
Feeding the wildlife.
Look out, it's the Sandhill crane, run for the hills!

Five 53 week pictures
So Madeleine survived her one year birthday and she told me to once again thank everyone for all the amazing presents! She also survived her first week at daycare, although she wasn't particularly thrilled about being dropped off. But she'll get used to that I'm sure.
Anyways, even though she's into her second year, Madeleine has not, I repeat not, gotten any less cute. I offer the following 5 shots as indisputable evidence.
Proud Dad.
Proud Mom.
Standing up is no problem now, walking is not far off.
