Eight Months Old

This past weekend represented yet another significant milestone in young Ms Madeleine's life: her eight month birthday! To celebrate the occasion, the family gathered together and set sail for Vancouver Island. Apparently while on the high seas, Madeleine doubles as a VandeGraaff generator.
If you've never had the pleasure of a BC Ferries breakfast, you haven't lived. Madeleine can hardly wait to get her hands on one of the three hashbrowns.

The destination was Chemainus, home of the Chemainus Theatre Festival and the "world famous" murals. It's a cute town that has been spared from the WalMart effect and has a nice quaint little downtown that features lovely Mom and Pop type shops (and most excellent soup).
Aunt Sarah is the star of the current production of "Having Hope at Home". It's great so if you're looking for something to do this holiday, go check it out! www.chemainustheatrefestival.ca

Murals are great, but do you know what is better? Cake!
You know how they say you must wait 1/2 hour after eating before swimming? Baby M says that's advice for nerds, where's the pool?!?
Dad teaches the backstroke.
So ends the eight month birthday celebration. Now the real fun begins. Countdown to Christmas. Check back regularly for some surefire awesome blog entries.

I am my dear baby sister's regular breakfast, lunch and dinner companion, just in case she drops a little treat for the Burns-man. Baby food/mush is deeee-lish! Baby M doesn't have enough winter hats. I counted earlier this evening (yes, I can count) and she has 17. In fear that her wee head would get cold, Mom bought her another one today. Perhaps it will help her get over her Santaphobia.
We miss you Pa and Nana!

Olympic Spirit

Soon, my family will find out if it has won the Olympic Ticket Lottery... and Madeleine is hoping that by wearing her Olympic mascot t-shirt, she'll help bring about some good fortune. Baby M hopes to one day be in the Olympic Games herself. She's wondering what event she should go in for? Help her out by offering your unbiased opinion on the new dog blog survey! In other Baby M related news, she got her hands on a cookie and messy chaos ensued. Finally, it seems like Santaphobia runs in the family.

A confession

I know that most of you have the impression that I am completely perfect. Well, I have a confession to make, I have a weakness. A fear, or phobia if you will: Santaphobia
On Sunday, the whole family walked all the way down to Steveston for the specific purpose of having my picture taken with somebody named "Santa". My parents made bold promises of a good time. As it turns out, my parents were trying to bamboozle me, as this "Santa" is actually a creepy looking geezerman with a gigantic beard and a terrifying red suit. Who wouldn't be scared to death of something like that? To make a long story short, this is where there was supposed to be a picture of me and this Santa guy, but that ain't happening. Instead, here's a shot of me with Sable and Ziggy.
On the bright side, Madeleine was in a posing mood. Here she is being silly with Daddy.
And here she is being super-duper cute with Mom.
Bonus cuteness!

Building em' up and tearing 'em down.

I haven't been personally featured in too many of my own posts recently. This fact has caused tremendous public uproar and has been the subject of massive protests and petitions. You see, it's a tough situation because I really don't like giving up the creative control that one gets when personally handling the camera, but this IS the Mr Burns dog blog after all and what would it be without yours truly? So I briefly handed the camera over so that this nice picture of me with Madeleine could be taken.
A problem has developed in the Baby M - Mr Burns relationship; she is hogging her toys! Hmm, she seems to have left that plush pink dog ring unguarded. Perhaps that is about to go missing?

"Hello my name is Madeleine, I believe you have some presents for me."
Yup, Baby M was lucky enough to have Christmas come a little early. This week, she received a large package brimming with all sorts of sweet gifts from her relatives in the United Kingdom.
Amongst the gifts was this interesting creature with a label attached requesting: "Please look after this bear. Thank you."
This morning (!?!) we were watching the Canucks game against Pittsburgh when Luongo went down with what looked like a pretty serious injury. Is this the end of the season? Madeleine seems to think so:

100th Dog Blog Post

Can you believe it? One hundred dog blog entries. Not too shabby, if I do say so myself (especially if you consider my lack of thumbs). Madeleine celebrated the occasion by being up to no good. Here's a candid shot of her hatching her plot... To attack Dad's nose, without mercy. When asked about why she would so viciously put Dad's handsome & rugged good looks at risk, Madeleine had only the following to offer in reply:

Roar You Lions Roar

Ahoy there loyal dog blog readers.

It has been another busy week of fun and frivolity.
Madeleine, as I'm sure you can guess was super cute. Don't believe me? Check out this portrait quality snapshot I took. Here's another terrific picture, this time of the two ladies of the house. By the way, that sweet shirt of Baby M's actually belonged to her mother.

Madeleine takes a wee peek.

What is she looking at? That, I'm afraid, is a secret.
Madeleine and Pa(w).
This Saturday was super sports day. The Canucks and Bobby Lou were going for their third straight shutout. The big game however was the Lions playoff battle against the hated Saskatchewan Roughriders. The whole family was decked out for the occasion. Of course, good triumphed over evil and the Lions made a laughingstock of the Ridernation.
If you zoom in close in this picture, you get a pretty good look at M's two teeth.
Final score, Lions 33 - Riders 12. Guess those orange outfits are going in the wash to be ready for next Saturday.
Another video! Do you want to know if Madeleine is ticklish? Of course you do, press play then!
