Have you ever seen anything so beautiful?

Milestone! 6 months old.
It seems like just yesterday that my baby sister came into this world, yet today she's 6 months old.
Have you ever seen anything so beautiful?
Madeleine was lucky to receive some roses from Grandma and Opa.
Mom and Madeleine.
Dad and Madeleine.
Another great cake, and looking forward to many more.

Broccoli
There are some questions that humanity has confronted for an eternity, seemingly without an answer.
What is the meaning of life?
Does a circle have a beginning?
What came first, chicken or egg?
Will the Maple Leafs ever win the Stanley Cup again?
Well I, Mr Burns, am pleased to report that I have found the answer to one of life's great mysteries: Does Madeleine like broccoli? Watch this video to find out!

Update! I knew that Madeleine's take on broccoli was familiar, but I just couldn't place it... until now! "Please, someone, honey mustard!"

26 Weeks Old
Madeleine, you'll never ever guess who is 26 weeks old today!
It's you, silly. Ya!
What an adorable family.
Daddy and Baby M having a party.
Madeleine all partied out
Well that is it for today's blog entry... unless Madeleine have you got any more in you?
Of course she does! Here's a couple of shots dedicated to Nana in the hopes that they will make her feel better and assist in a speedy recovery.

Will the hat come off? And other lovely stuff.
Do you known about Wiarton Willie? He's a prognosticating groundhog and legend has it that on every February 2, Willie emerges from his hole and if he sees his own shadow, then winter will continue for 6 further weeks. Well, Baby M has similar clairvoyant skills! Every September 22, Madeleine may or may not remove her own hat, if she does, summer will continue for 6 more weeks.
Want to know this year's result? Of course you do! Check out the live footage:
Yesterday, Madeleine was quite at home in Mom and Dad's bed. It became obvious to everyone that she was just a bit too comfortable when she ordered waffles for breakfast in bed. It had to be explained to her that she was not at a Bed and Breakfast, and so no she couldn't have waffles. She was offered some yam instead.
Yummy yams!

Nana had Madeleine the other day and asked if she might have a little kiss.
And of course, Madeleine was all too happy to oblige.
I wondered: "Madeleine, where is the love for a poor ol' basset hound?"
That's the great thing about Madeleine, she always has enough affection to spread around.

New toy, and Madeleine takes offence.
Psst, wake up Madeleine!
Oh, hello there. Guess what I've got something for you...
New toy!
What do you think about that?
Although, it's not been all fun and games recently. I am sad to report that it turns out that Baby M has a wee bit of a short fuse. Here's a blow by blow account of what I observed.
Madeleine was hangin' out with her friend Mason, when for some unknown reason, she took some exception to his demeanour.
Madeleine: "Mason, don't you know it's rude to stare?"

Mason: "Oh yeah, what are you going to do about it?"

Tisk, tisk what a live wire! But in all seriousness, they're a pretty cute pair, don't you think?

By popular demand
So over the past 24 hours, I have been inundated with requests from around the world for a video of Madeleine enjoying her grey goo. Apparently, the still shots from the last entry did not satisfy my loyal dog blog readers. I always aim to please, so by popular demand, here is Baby M enjoying her first supper:

Food, glorious food.
As even the most casual reader of this meager dog blog will know, I am into food. For weeks and weeks I've been trying to convince Baby M that she ought to give it a whirl. I guess I have not been too convincing. Mom and Dad decided on a new tactic: show her the best possible food in the hopes of enticing her. So off we go to Beard Papa's, makers of the incredibly delicious cream puff.
Hmm, looks like the strategy is working. Unbeknowst to Madeleine however, her first food won't be a yummy desert, but rather the not quite as tasty grey goo.

Anyways, here's Baby M on the verge of giving food a try for the first time.

The big moment.

Looks like she's enjoying it.
The aftermath.
After a big meal, everybody knows that there is nothing like a brisk walk, especially when the weather is as nice as it is.
Although sometimes it is just as fun to simply lounge around and watch the boats slowly pass by.

The past few days.
The past few days have been pretty exciting. Here are a few snap shots of what the family has been up to.
Madeleine is going to audition for the part of Cindy-Loo Who in the forthcoming production of How the Grinch Stole Christmas. Clearly, she is a shoo-in for the role.

Madeleine shows off her haul from the day trip to the American factory outlets. If you look carefully, you might be able to get a sneak peak at what is coming down the pipe for Halloween.
Madeleine and Dad enjoy a patio in Steveston.
Horsin' around in the Jungle-Jumparoo.
Here Madeleine tries unconvincingly to fool me into thinking she has no yummy treats. What's in the other hand I say!

Lantern Festival
Burns man here, reporting for dog blog duty.
Greater Vancouver International Lantern Festival!
What is that you ask? Well simply put, it's the greatest. Basically they took Bill Vander Zalm's stomping grounds and set up a ton of these light 'em up dioramas featuring some pretty odd scenes. For example:
If you find yourself somewhat bewildered about what you are looking at, there are some helpful signs around that explain everything, sort of.
When in Rome...
There were some vicious dinosaurs around that scared Anna and Baby M half to death.

This one was my favourite.

Baby Madeleine really liked this one in particular because she's born in the year of the Rat.
What a Friday. I ran around like a crazy dog all day at the dog day camp. And well, what sort of trouble did the family get into tonight?!?
