Second to last day of the greatest two weeks ever.

The 2010 Vancouver Olympics have been quite the ride so far, and perhaps if all is right with the universe, the men will triumph over the United States in the gold medal hockey game tomorrow. The best might be yet to come. Check out what the family has been up to recently... There was the Great Big Sea concert at Newfoundland's Victory ceremony at BC place.
The boys can rock after all these years.
"Go Canada"
Dad and his gold medal he won for competitive awesomeness.
Ha ha! Just kidding, the medal actually belonged to Cherie Piper, star forward of Canada's gold medal winning women's hockey team.
Madeleine checks out the hardware. It's really heavy!
We met Cherie at Canada Olympic house, the exclusive home of Canadian Olympic Committee on the top floor of the Bay. Special thanks to Judy for getting us on the guest list!
There was some beautiful art on display.

How appropriate, Baby M on top of the podium.

Go Canada!

The Olympics, one week in.

Today we were off to the Vancouver Olympic Centre. Can't really tell what takes place there by the name...
YES! Curling!
Madeleine loves her some curling.
Dad and Baby M.

Mom and Baby M.
This was the queue for a picture with Madeleine.
Mom goes to the front of the line.
Ohh the Olympic flame.

There are lines everywhere. Here's Dad in front of the House of Switzerland. We did not get in.
Here is Sochi World, hosts of the next Olympics. We did not get in.
This wait to get into Northern House went around the corner.
But we got in!
Look out for the bear.
Vancouver is looking good!

Madeleine is totally into the 2010 games.

Bonus video. Madeleine cheers on her team.

Even more Olympic Shenanigans

Believe it or not, a Mountie took this picture while I was still in the security line. No joke. En route to Canada Hockey Place for Canada v. Switzerland. What makes you want to come to BC more: the poster or Baby M? The family showing their true colours. The opening line-up. Foreshadowing? Don't worry Mom, Madeleine saved your seat. At the intermission, we managed to find Mark and Jen. Baby M is captivated by the on-ice action.Final score: good guys 3, neutral guys 2. Maelle Ricker gets her gold medal! Dad and Aunt Olga at Irish House, can't you tell? Uncle Neil and Aunt Elizabeth at Irish House. Face off! Should a man be able to do that? Game over. Handshake. The spirit of sport lives on. This picture is awesome. Hmmm, I think that team Canada can find a better goalie. Canada's Alexandre Bilodeau gets the country's first gold medal. Richmond is flat and at sea level so it only makes sense that it would play host to Holland Heineken house. Cousin Mark was in town and wanted Dad's hat. Dad would not give it up, no sir. Dutch culture. I highly recommend the Stamppot zuurkool met worst en spek. Delicious. Mom is in the Olympic spirit. Is this photo worth a Canadian car flag? Mom thought so. Well in case you feel that this posting was a little light on the Baby M, here are some sweet pictures from our afternoon photo session.
