Blog Hiatus
Ahh, vacation time.
Well, it's been way too hot in Vancouver recently. I'm outta here. There will be a wee break in the blog postings. Now is a good time for y'all to go back in the archives and look at all the adventures of the past year and a half. Be sure to check back in mid-August for what is sure to be a huge posting.
One Baby M photo, for the road.

Triple Feature.
Oh loyal dog blog reader! Do you recall, in a not-long-ago era, the golden age of cinema if you will, the double feature? It is amongst the many things lacking from the movie going experience of 2009. Well, this blog entry takes you back and adds another for good measure, behold the triple feature: ... Well actually like any trip to the theatre, first you must watch the coming attractions.
Young Ms Madeleine has a dream...
of being a cowgirl.
Coming soon, Cowgirl in a Pink Hat.
Also coming soon: Cuteness.
And next summer, the blockbuster: The Standoff.
And now our feature presentations:
The Dancing Machine
The Belly
The Bellybutton.

NOT Camping.
Ahoy there dog blog readers. I am happy to report that I am safe and sound at home after the camping adventure and I've almost got the smell of campfire out of my beautiful fur. This is now my favourite time of year as it is the longest possible time before I get dragged out to the next trip to the great outdoors.

The sun was out again today, providing for yet another wicked awesome BC summer day.
When you go outside, don't forget your hat.
Baby M enjoying life.
Madeleine learns a new trick, the ol' pulling your shirt over your head.
"Hey Madeleine, where's your bellybutton?"

Camping Take Two
The avid dog blog reader might recall that about this time last year, the old family dragged me out on this idiotic outdoor adventure they called camping. For those unfamiliar with this particularly tragic episode of my existence, go back in the blog history.
Well this year I prepared ahead knowing full well that humans never learn and would attempt this foolhardy expedition once again. I made the appropriate sacrifice to the Gods of Golden Ears and seemingly they were appeased and we were blessed with nothing but sunshine.
First things first was setting up the new abode. Madeleine did her fair share, by posing in front of it after assembly and looked pretty.

One of the highlights was a nice long hike. We found this wicked hollow tree.
The hike was long, luckily there was this nice stream that allowed us to relax and cool down.
Me after a dip in the stream.
After a long hike, everybody needed a wee rest.
After the naps, it was time for some photo-ops.

Check out the hightops.
Another sweet tree.
Baby M and Daddy.
Baby M and Momma.

It also happened to be Dad's 31st birthday, so old there wasn't enough room for all the candles.
Now you can see why I'm just not into this camping thing. What am I, a foot stool!?!

Sunglasses
There are two types of people out there. Those who look cool in shades.
Like so.
Or like so.

Then there are those who lack style, grace and what the French call je ne sais quoi and just look foolish in sunglasses, like this boorish fellow.
There can be no doubt that Baby M belongs to the former group, n'est pas?
To all blog readers: send more books, for Madeleine is clearly lacking!!!
Check out the curls!
Art house shot.

A Nice Day for a White Wedding.
The main event for the weekend was unquestionably the wedding of good friends Sid and Kara.

The weather was absolutely beautiful, as was Madeleine in her gorgeous dress.
The ceremony was held at the Vancouver Museum in Kitsilano, a beautiful setting.
The big moment.
Madeleine checks out the ducks.
Congratulations to Sid and Kara.
Have you ever seen such beautiful blue eyes?

Check out the sweet hairclip.
Slide time!!
A visit to the beach, nice.
Picnics are great.

Happy Canada Day
So if nothing else, my word is as good as gold. In fact, you can take it to the bank, and cash it. When I said there would be a Canada Day posting, gosh darn it, there will be one.
Here's Dad and Madeleine in front of the family villa, adorned in patriotic style for the day. Dad had to bleed to make this picture possible.
Much like our house, Madeleine was specially dressed for the occasion. Special bonus to those who can locate the tattoo.
First off, was an early-morning 8 dollar pancake breakfast by Scouts Canada. It was delicious. Almost as much as this picture.
Dad got a hold of the camera and took this picture. Mom complained about it, but Burns-man can remedy even the most off-centre pictures thanks to the miracle of iPhoto.
Next up was the annual World Longest Parade Where Everyone and Their Dog Is Allowed, or something like that. That was fun for a little while and Baby M seemed to enjoy herself, but there was Salmon to be had, and it was delicious.
Following the Salmon Festival and a wee nap, off to Na and Pa(w)'s for some relaxation. First up, lounging.
Then walking or snoozing, as the case may be.
Everybody into the pool!!!
Well that's it for this Canada Day, hope it was safe and fun for everyone.
