To celebrate the occasion, the family gathered together and set sail for Vancouver Island. Apparently while on the high seas, Madeleine doubles as a VandeGraaff generator.
If you've never had the pleasure of a BC Ferries breakfast, you haven't lived. Madeleine can hardly wait to get her hands on one of the three hashbrowns.
The destination was Chemainus, home of the Chemainus Theatre Festival and the "world famous" murals. It's a cute town that has been spared from the WalMart effect and has a nice quaint little downtown that features lovely Mom and Pop type shops (and most excellent soup).

Murals are great, but do you know what is better? Cake!
